We're all going on a summer holiday

Take a summer holiday with us !

What a strange year or so it has been !

It is always good to have something to look forward to and that has been a really difficult part of lockdown for everyone. For the Hettie family , this has also meant that we haven’t been able to visit our second home in France as usual. As I write this we are trying to work out if the rules will allow us to go and take care of our little house there. The garden is very overgrown , and we need to give it some tlc .

A trip to the boulangerie

One of the lovely things about having our home in France is that various friends and family can come and visit too. Our dogs also come , and love to greet everyone that they know coming through the gate.

There is a boulangerie in our little village , and a highlight of every day is going to buy freshly baked bread for lunch from the wood fired oven there. Fresh , warm and delicious. Karen our friend has been to visit many times , and her sketch of the Boulangerie is available as part of our greeting cards pack , or as a art print

First photoshoot

The very first photoshoot we did for Hettie was in France. We took our handbags and accessories samples around the beautiful bastide villages to get our first lifestyle shots in the sunshine. And the locals were very interested in what we were up to !

A friend’s dog Jasper proved to be the perfect dog model for our new dog coats and harnesses , and we have named our dog coats after him.

Getting there

Our dogs always come too and are professionals at travelling the long way in the car between our houses. We travel through the Eurotunnel with ease and stop overnight in a dog friendly hotel on the way down . You can read all about travelling to France with your pet in our blog for Eurotunnel below.

Lazy days

One of the best things about being on holiday is doing absolutely nothing. Taking the time out to clear your head , read a book and time for yourself.
