Prince Charles, the patron officially launched the Campaign for Wool in 2010. Hettie are proud to be part of this fabulous initiative .

Each year , the campaign runs Wool Week . Following the request and success of Wool Week taking place over 2 weeks, the timing and duration has been retained  to allow for wider wool promotions and events for retailers, designers, tailors and craft workshops.

For 2020 Wool Week will run from 5th- 18th Oct and you can read a bit more about it here .

The wool that we use in many of our products has a lot of environmental benefits and is a wonderfully friendly fabric . You can read more about it's benefits on our website here.

Have a look at our sustainability policy also for some more information

"Make A Difference – Choose Wool. Every year sheep produce a new fleece; making wool a natural, renewable fibre source. Wool has inherent natural biodegradable properties in the land and ocean to benefit the planet which is choking from waste plastic, man-made and micro-fibres. We can all make a difference by choosing wool to help safeguard the planet for future generations "

We love wool at Hettie . The wool we use for our collections is sourced from Abraham Moon who have a long history and heritage in Britain and are renowned throughout the world. They weave their stunning wool in one of the last remaining vertical mills in the UK which was established in 1837 , the same year Queen Victoria came to the throne .The sheep used for the wool are well cared for also and there is traceability throughout the supply chain
To celebrate this year's Wool Week , Hettie are offering a competition over on our Instagram page to win one of our fabulous British made wool handbags . You can find out more over on Hettie's Instagram here  To be in with a chance to win , just take a look at the competition post and answer the question in the comments .
