Summer holidays with Hettie

We love the colours of summer and the feel of sunshine on your face !

Does anyone else love city breaks and exploring new places ?

We love them and have always done a couple every year if we can, although this year has been a little different .

A guide book and my trusty camera always come too, and our Hettie handbag is perfect for a day out.

Exploring Crete with the Hettie family

Take a trip with us to the beautiful sunshine island of Crete.

Crete, Greece's largest island, is known for its varied terrain, which ranges from fine-sand beaches at Elafonisi to the White Mountains. Mt. Ida, the tallest of the range, is home to the Ideon Cave, which was the birthplace of Zeus, according to Greek mythology. The capital, Heraklion, is home to the renowned Heraklion Archaeological Museum, housing Minoan artifacts, and Knossos, a Bronze Age settlement.

And stunning , vibrant colours everywhere !

Beautiful photoshoot for Hettie in Lisbon

We were delighted to be invited to a photoshoot with Tory Smith in Lisbon last year - a place where food, style and culture combine so well to produce a happy living environment.

You can read all about it on our blog here and discover more about Tory and the beautiful models we used for these stunning photos.

Tory is an International Photographer shooting for clients worldwide. Currently based in London Tory’s work covers Fashion, Beauty, Swimwear, Jewellery, Advertising and Editorial Photography.

Dogs need a holiday too

We love taking our dogs away on holiday with us to our house in France.

They are real pros at travelling the long journey and going through the Eurotunnel.

The restaurants and cafés in France are very dog friendly and we love the Manjocarn in St Antonin Noble Val which overlooks the river Aveyron. Bruce our boxer loves to watch people canoeing down the river !

He is wearing his dog collar and lead in Multispot wine here for relaxing by the river

TV series recommendation

The Durrells

My father gave my a series of books when I was a child , which he had kept from his childhood and which I absolutely loved.

Just before the Second World War the Durrell family decamped to the glorious, sun-soaked island of Corfu where the youngest of the four children, ten-year-old Gerald, discovered his passion for animals: toads and tortoises, bats and butterflies, scorpions and octopuses. Through glorious silver-green olive groves and across brilliant-white beaches Gerry pursued his obsession . . . causing hilarity and mayhem in his ever-tolerant family.

The books have been made into a glorious TV series which is well worth watching
