Stunning Hillside Cottage in Port Isaac

For a boutique-style, coastal family holiday to remember, Hillside Cottage is a dreamy self catering fisherman’s cottage located less than a minutes walk down to Port Isaac's vibrant harbour side, shops, galleries, pub and restaurants including the Michelin Star Nathan Outlaw Fish Kitchen - just at the bottom of the hill

Recently refurbished beautifully by Anouska Lancaster, this boutique-style holiday cottage offers luxury family accommodation set over three floors, sleeping 6-7 guests across three bedrooms with one bathroom and the benefit of private parking for one car. Climb up to the elevated garden area via slate steps to admire the most outstanding coastal and harbour views as you sit around a crackling fire pit - the perfect spot to enjoy the sunsetting over Port Isaac harbour

Port Isaac in Cornwall

The small vibrant fishing village of Port Isaac is one of Cornwall's most well known and popular holiday destinations. The picturesque fishing village lies on a stunning stretch of coastline, midway between Polzeath (and the Rumps headland to the west) and the ever popular village of Tintagel Much of the coastline and surrounding countryside of Port Isaac is designated as an Area of ousctanding natural beauty and Heritage Coastline.

Port Isaac was a busy coastal port from the Middle Ages to the mid 19th. Century when it was an active harbour where cargoes like stone, coal, timber and pottery were loaded and unloaded.

Fishing and fish-processing were also important and today there are still fishermen working from here although tourism plays an increasingly important role.

Beach book recommendations

I loved this inspiring book by Michelle Obama

It is her memoir and was published in 2018 Described by the author as a deeply personal experience the book talks about her roots and how she found her voice, as well as her time in the White House as First Lady, her public health campaign, and her role as a mother.

I came away really liking her as a very grounded person who loves her family and country - and as someone who managed to balance her job with her family so well.

We love Ibiza . What a beautiful island !

It is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea and the third largest of the Balearic islands . The climate is lovely all year round and we have stayed there in May and September

There are lots of stunning beaches to choose from . Wild and free bays to little sandy coves. Explore Ibiza with Hettie on our blog post using the link below.
